Monitoring public opinion
Every month we interview about 1,500 adults across Ukraine and track how trust in institutions and household economic sentiment are changing. Below are the key figures from the September wave.
Analysis
- Data: September 2026
Defence and government: an 87-point trust gap
In September we asked about trust in the Ministry of Defence for the first time. Ratings of the ministry turned out to be closer to those of the army than of the government it belongs to.
- Data: February–September 2026
Compromise is not capitulation
Most Ukrainians support seeking a negotiated compromise while rejecting Russia's terms. There is no contradiction here: society clearly distinguishes negotiation from concessions on someone else's terms.
- Data: April–September 2026
Consumer confidence at a six-month low
Ukrainians' economic sentiment deteriorated markedly in September. The consumer confidence index fell from −16.9 to −23.0, its lowest since we began measuring it in April.
